Biography
I was born and raised in the Milwaukee area. I attended medical school at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and internship and residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. My career has focused on the care of vulnerable and marginalized populations including caring for people who live with HIV and hepatitis C, LGBTQ populations, patients with substance use disorder, and high need and high-cost patients. I have a dual role serving as an associate professor at ϰϲͼ and providing clinical care in our general internal medicine clinic. In addition, I split my work at the Sixteenth Street Community Health centers where I provide clinical care, run our resident continuity clinic, and serve as the medical director of research, education, quality improvement, and HIV. My current research interests surround the use of short narrative reflections to improve empathy and professional development among medical students as well as quality improvement efforts at sixteenth street community health centers.
