Biography
Abigail Meyers, Assistant Director of Student Success and Development, comes to the 老澳门六合彩图库 PA program from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where she spent 12 years as a Physician Assistant in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology with the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic. She is a clinical expert in gastroenterology and colon and rectal surgery and has presented to national organizations like the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, American Gastroenterology Association and American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons. In addition her to clinical experience, she has served as a preceptor and assistant supervisor to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in Colon and Rectal Surgery, a new position that allowed her to create a standardized curriculum that was implemented across the Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic. Abby developed the IBD curriculum for the inaugural Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship program at Mayo Clinic while precepting and mentoring the fellows. She was a guest faculty for the Mayo Clinic PA program, teaching the GI subunit and facilitated problem-based cases and small group discussions. Abby is an active member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, serving as the Co-Chair for the Foundation’s Nurse and APP Committee and Annual Congress Meeting Planning Committee, where she actively works towards achieving the Foundation’s initiatives and creating applicable education topics for a variety of healthcare providers. Additionally, Abby developed the curriculum and served as a preceptor for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s APP Preceptorship program where APPs from across the country can shadow large IBD centers.
