老澳门六合彩图库 Ophthalmology Residency Training Facilities

Eye Institute-Froedtert

Froedtert & the 老澳门六合彩图库 Eye Institute

Affiliated with both Froedtert Hospital & the 老澳门六合彩图库, the Eye Institute contains the majority of the ophthalmology training facilities. The eight floor Eye Institute building contains outpatient clinics, four ophthalmology operating rooms, research laboratories, an ophthalmology journal library and multiple conference rooms.

Teaching and supervision at the Eye Institute is provided by the full-time faculty members in the various subspecialties as well as comprehensive ophthalmology. Regardless of rotation, didactic and teaching conferences are held at the Eye Institute and are scheduled at times that do not conflict with scheduled patient care at the VA Medical Center, or Children's Wisconsin.

Childrens

Children's Wisconsin Eye Clinic

Residents rotate through the Eye Clinic located within Children's Wisconsin (Children's) for their Pediatric/Strabismus training. As an affiliate of Froedtert Hospital and the 老澳门六合彩图库, Children's is connected to the Eye Institute through underground walkways. This clinic has 4 exam lanes.

Our Pediatric Ophthalmologists provide resident teaching and supervision for the care of patients with pediatric ophthalmic diseases. Surgery is performed at Children's Wisconsin and the Surgicenter of Greater Milwaukee (a Children's Wisconsin facility located 3 miles from the hospital). The technical staff in the clinic consists of a certified orthoptist and a certified ophthalmic technician.

MVAMC

Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center Eye Clinic

The VA Medical Center Eye Clinic (VA) is the site at which residents at all levels of training have the most primary patient-care responsibility. Located within ten minutes of the Eye Institute, the VA was completely renovated in 2005. This clinic includes 12 fully equipped examination lanes, Photography and Angiography facilities within the clinic, and new patient check-in and waiting areas.

At the VA residents are provided a learning experience with graded autonomy for the care of ophthalmology patients that have both common and rare medical and surgical diseases of the eye. The opportunity to provide primary care to patients with a wide breadth of ophthalmic disorders, with progressive autonomy (under supervision), aids in preparing residents to practice competently and independently at the completion of residency. Teaching and supervision at the VA is provided by Eye Institute Faculty as well as clinical faculty from the community.
