Program Information

The mission of the 1-year, ACGME-accredited Selective Pathology - Surgical fellowship is to provide advanced subspecialty training in the practice of general surgical pathology with additional emphasis in one area of subspecialty surgical pathology as determined by the fellow based on their educational preferences. The fellow will gain experience in presenting and discussing the cases with their surgical and clinical colleagues through participation in the various multi-disciplinary conferences, including tumor boards and consensus conferences. Fellows will have the opportunity to work with world-class surgeons, transplant physicians and clinicians in a multidisciplinary environment, and under the supervision of experienced, dedicated subspecialty fellowship trained pathologists. The fellow also has the opportunity to participate in clinical research projects and teaching.

Requirements

  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Anatomic or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency
  • Board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology
  • Must have or be eligible to apply for a Wisconsin Medical License

  3. “Personal Statement” highlighting your future plans and any specific interests within Pathology you might wish to pursue during your fellowship
  4. Minimum three letters of recommendation
  5. USMLE Results (Steps 1, 2, 3) documentation
  6. Citizenship/visa status indicating your ability to work in the United States
  7. ECFMG Certificate (if International Medical Graduate)
  8. Copy of your current state medical license
  9. Must be eligible for Wisconsin medical license
