Biography
Dr. Shum an ear, nose, and throat surgeon with a practice that includes general Otolaryngology with a particular interest in the treatment of sleep disorders including sleep apnea. He is a native of Kansas City, and he obtained his undergraduate degree at Princeton University, where he conducted award-winning research in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he earned a research training grant from the NIH and a student research award from the department of Otolaryngology. He completed his Otolaryngology residency at the ϰϲͼ, where he stayed to complete fellowship training in both Pediatric Otolaryngology and Sleep Medicine. His fellowship training included advanced surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
