ϰϲͼ Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Resources

Instrumentation

Our Program is equipped with state-of-the-art MEG instrumentation.

  • Elekta Vectorview: 306 MEG channels (204 planar gradiometers and 102 magnetometers)
  • 60 simultaneous EEG channels
  • Simultaneous ECG, EOG recordings
  • Simultaneous recording of 8 analog channels (for e.g. audio, respiration, skin conductance, etc.)
  • All channels sampled at up to 5KHz
  • Magnetic shielding provided by a 7-tons magnetically-shielded room with active flux compensation (MaxShield™ technology, Elekta)
  • Online head-movement monitoring and offline correction provided by MaxMove™ technology (Elekta)

Lab space and program suite

Computing ToolsComprehensive 2,500-square foot clinical and research suite with:

  • Patient and family waiting area
  • Restrooms and changing rooms
  • Subject preparation area
  • Office space

Computing resources

MEG data analysis is computationally demanding and challenging. Our program has access to powerful computation resources supported by Froedtert's and the ϰϲͼ's information services:

  • 16-processors Linux cluster
  • Multi-platform data server
  • Secured ftp server for rapid and convenient access from on-campus and off-campus collaborators and MEG investigators
  • Additional resources are kindly provided by ϰϲͼ's Department of Physiology
